David Adkins

Washington Wizards has hired David Adkins as assistant coach. Adkins has more than a dozen NBA players under his belt. Adkins also has experience working with Division I athletes such as Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Linas Kliiza (Toronto Raptors), Greivis Vasquez (Memphis Grizzlies), and Austin Freeman (Georgetown). Additionally, Adkins has worked with multiple Maryland basketball players, including Alex Len of the Terrapins and Tianna Hawkins, who was a top pick in the 2014 WNBA draft.

Washingtonians have been buzzing about Adkins joining the Wizards' coaching team. Adkins, who was a former coach at the Wizards' DeniAvdija, is known for his ability to develop players. Adkins started a car detailing business in Northern Virginia, before joining the Wizards.

Kristi Toliver

After being a part of the Washington Wizards staff for two seasons, Kristi Toliver was hired by the Dallas Mavericks. Toliver, a former WNBA champion, is currently the Mavericks coach in the Western Conference finals. She is a threetime All-Star from Wizards and was previously on their staff. After her playing career, Toliver went back to Los Angeles and helped the Sparks to the WNBA championship in 2016. Toliver became the Wizards' assistant coach in February 2018. But, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, she was forced to withdraw from the season.


Toliver worked with the Wizards' coaches during the 2018 NBA Summer League as well as during training camp. She is a two-time All-Star who was also the winner of the 2016 WNBA Championship with the Los Angeles Sparks. Toliver was selected third overall by Chicago Bulls in 2009's draft. She also played college basketball at Maryland Terrapins.

James Posey

Washington Wizards general manager Dan Gilbert has added James Posey to his coaching staff. Posey (46), played 12 seasons in NBA and won two championships with Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. He is an experienced and versatile role player. He has a long and varied history in the NBA, including an experience as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Posey will serve as an assistant coach to the Washington Wizards under head coach Wes Unseld Jr. Posey was an assistant coach last season for the University of Virginia women’s team. Although Posey's job title is not yet finalized, it will fill the void left by Mike Batiste's departure to Houston.

Larry Harris

If you have been following the Washington Wizards long enough, you will know that there is much uncertainty in this team. Hire a new coach, even though Jerry Grunfeld's firing was a good step in the right directions. Washington needs a coach who is available immediately.

The Wizards currently have $90MM of salary cap money for 2019. There are many vacant roster spots, and many key contributors are expected to be on the market for free agents this summer. Thomas Bryant as well as Tomas Satoransky, will become restricted-free agents. Bobby Portis is another key contributor. He will be available on the open marketplace this summer.
